These common cooking spices have great health perks:

Cinnamon

Helps keep blood sugar stable.

Ginger

A natural anti-inflammatory, which means it has a wide range of health and beauty benefits.  Often helps relieve arthritis or other joint pain.  Prevents nausea and raises your metabolism.

Red Cayenne Pepper

Raises your metabolism and can help clear your sinuses.

Turmeric

Perhaps the healthiest spice known and believed to be the reason that Alzheimer’s Disease is more rare in India (where the spice is used daily.)  Also a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, which makes it healthy for heart, brain, joints, skin and virtually everything else.  Especially helpful for arthritis or other joint pain.

Jill’s Note

I believe that Ginger and Turmeric have enough proven health benefits that they are worth taking in supplement form if you don’t eat them regularly.  If you are pregnant or nursing, check with your doctor first.
